The Ministry of Finance has started the process of issuing US dollar benchmark Eurobonds.

According to Khurram Shahzad, adviser to the finance minister, Pakistan will issue Eurobonds consisting of 2 parts of 5 and 10 years period.

He further said that the important phase of Pakistan’s return to the global capital market has begun, the Ministry of Finance has decided to issue Eurobonds when the market conditions are favorable.

Khurram Shahzad also said that after continuous credit rating upgrades, Pakistan started the Eurobond process, with strong economic fundamentals, investor confidence paving the way for Eurobonds.

He said that an important step has been taken to re-access Pakistan’s global capital markets, economic stability, investors’ confidence, the journey to access the global market is ongoing.
