Geo News has obtained the inquiry report of the committee formed by the Prime Minister on Pimz tragedy.

In the report, the cause of the fire in the nursery has been attributed to electrical fault.

According to the report, there is a strong possibility that the fire started from the power supply cable of AC No. 2, no evidence of sabotage or ISCO fault was found.

There was no evidence of oxygen leakage or incubator fire, 15 newborns were under treatment in the nursery, 14 died, the nursery was overcrowded.

The report said the 10-bed unit, which housed 15 children, did not have an effective automatic smoke detection and alarm system in the nursery.

According to the report, earlier fire safety warnings were not implemented, and the July 6 fire at the nursing hostel also revealed deficiencies.

The report found no criminal charges against anyone, and recommended further investigation into electrical installations, emergency routes and warnings.

The report said that prompt fire, life safety and electrical audits in PIMs and special emergency evacuation SOPs for infants were suggested.

The report recommended the immediate activation of fire detection, alarm and exit systems, saying that the newborns died not because of the failure of the safety system but because of several weak measures.
