Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan says it was his mistake to make the 2012 film Cocktail, a slightly reactionary script choice. After 14 years, Saif explained why Homi Adjania agreed to act in the film and play the role of Gautham.

Well, he always tries to try different types of roles in his career, but Cocktail was also a milestone film in his career. He starred alongside Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty in this romantic comedy.

In an interview, Saif Ali Khan called the work in the film a mistake. He explained that the main reason for his work in the film was that he was also its producer. Since he was backing the project, he wanted the film to be completed and eventually reach cinemas. I was fully aware that the interesting role was that of Veronica.

During the same conversation, he also talked about Sajid Khan’s 2014 film Hum Shukl and said, “Personally, I think I was the wrong choice for that film as well, because it was not my type of film.” There were some actors who could have played the role much better. It takes a different kind of ability and determination to make people laugh, which I probably couldn’t convince myself to do in this way.

Saif, 56, said, “I think Sajid expected me to act like this.” Well, Akshay Kumar could have done this role better. That was the mistake, but I stood by the film and Sajid as well. After all, we have to support our films.

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan will soon be seen opposite Akshay Kumar in Priya Darshan’s film Haeev. The film also stars Shreya Plagaonkar and Saiyami Kher in lead roles. The film will release in theaters on September 11.
