The American space company SpaceX has presented an ambitious plan to establish an automated factory on the moon with the help of humanoid (human-like) robots, with the aim of paving the way for permanent human settlement on the moon in the future.

According to the plan, humanoid robots will perform construction and production tasks before the arrival of astronauts, so as to minimize the dependence on human labor in harsh and difficult environments like the Moon.

In this automated factory, humanoid robots will perform daily tasks like construction of infrastructure, installation of various equipment, transportation of goods and processing of natural resources available on the moon.

SpaceX’s long-term goal is to use resources on the Moon to produce parts and other essential equipment for future space missions there, reducing the need to send supplies from Earth via expensive rocket launches.

According to the company, these robots will help lay the groundwork for a self-sustaining lunar base in the future, where scientific research and eventually permanent human habitation will be possible. Automating construction and industrial operations will not only improve the safety of astronauts, but also significantly reduce the cost of lunar activities.

The project is part of SpaceX’s broader vision to enable rapid and sustainable exploration of the Moon and later Mars with Starship spacecraft and advanced robotics.

SpaceX has also previously hinted at plans to use humanoid robots for construction work on the Moon and Mars, and later send large numbers of astronauts.

The company says the proposed automated factory on the moon will also be an important laboratory for testing future technologies used on Mars, where SpaceX plans to establish a self-sustaining human colony in the coming years.
