Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has urged states to respect sovereignty for security in the Middle East.

Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum ceremony on the occasion of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, he has warned about the increase in tension due to the war of America and Israel against Iran.

Sheikh Mohammed has described the economic impact of America and Israel’s war against Iran as an ‘earthquake’, the shocks of which are being felt far beyond the borders of the Middle East.

According to the Qatari prime minister, almost every conversation during the crisis began with security and de-escalation, followed by energy supplies, shipping routes and investment projects.

He has said that permanent security cannot be established through arrangements in which a state faces permanent insecurity, the causes of tension must be resolved and confidence must be built.

The Qatari Prime Minister also announced an investment of more than 38 billion dollars on the country’s infrastructure over the next 5 years, with the aim of attracting private investors and demonstrating Qatar’s economic strength.

On the other hand, Majid Al-Ansari, spokesman of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has said that Qatar’s mediation efforts are ongoing to restore talks between Iran and the United States and end the war.
