Police in Turkey arrested a fugitive criminal disguised as a woman after 8 years.

According to international media reports, a man named Tughrel Bishr was sentenced to 3 years in prison in 2018 for stealing and impersonating a government official in 3 cases in 2018, but he escaped before the start of the sentence.

The report said that after the escape, the criminal made major changes in his appearance and disguised himself as a woman and used his sister’s identity card while traveling in Istanbul, which made it difficult to trace him with the help of old photographs held by the police.

According to the report, after failing to trace Tughral Bishr through conventional methods, the police started investigating the criminal’s daily routine, movements and other personal information instead of his physical appearance.

During the police investigation, it came to light that some items were purchased in Turkey with the credit card of Tughral Bishr’s sister who is out of the country, which further increased the police’s suspicions.

With the help of credit card purchase records, the police finally raided and arrested the fugitive criminal hiding in Istanbul’s Kadikoy district.

This time, even an attempt to disguise and use another person’s identity could not save him from arrest as the police obtained his fingerprints and matched them with their records, which confirmed that the person in custody was the same Tughral Bishar who was wanted since 2018.
