US and Iran should end tensions and resume talks soon under the Islamabad MoU, China

China has demanded effective measures to end the tension with the US and Iran and resume the negotiation process under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and to open the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible.

China also expressed support for Iran’s ties with the Gulf countries and for the Gulf countries to respect each other’s territorial sovereignty and national security.

In a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that China does not want regional tensions to spread to Yemen and the Red Sea.

He said that China will support regional countries to change the existing security structure.

The Chinese foreign minister said his country is ready to strengthen dialogue and cooperation to protect Iran’s legitimate rights and interests.
