Calling the plane a small toy cost Noora Fathi, filed a claim for damages of three crores

An aviation company has filed a claim for damages of Rs 3 crore against Moroccan-Canadian actress Noora Fathi, who has worked in Bollywood films, over her toy plane comments.

In the suit for damages and defamation filed in a Gandhinagar court, the company alleged that the actress’s disparaging and irresponsible comments, such as calling the chartered plane a Lego airplane, caused serious damage to the company’s reputation.

The court has fixed the hearing of this matter on September 25. According to the petitioner company, Noora Fathi made the videos inside the plane during a flight from Mumbai to Jaipur in December last year. The actress posted these videos on her Instagram account describing the plane as a small toy and a Lego airplane.

The company maintained that these irresponsible statements by Noora Fatihi resulted in the cancellation of several bookings and serious damage to its business affairs. According to the lawsuit filed in April, Nora’s statements were irresponsible and negligent. These comments were not based on technical information or facts.

According to the company, Nora has more than 4.6 million social media followers, due to which her statements adversely affected the company’s reputation and business activities. The company says its bookings fell by 15 to 20 percent, while the number of cancellations also increased.

The company told the court that the aircraft was in normal use and airworthy and was fully certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, airworthy and operating under valid NSOPs.

In addition to damages of INR 3 crore, the company has requested the court to order the immediate removal of all statements and content related to the plane by Noora from social media platforms. While the company also demanded that Nora also issue a public explanation.
