Senior Bollywood actress and jewelery designer Neelam Kothari broke her silence on rumors of an affair with Govinda and said she did not know that Govinda was married at that time.

She has now responded to years of rumors about her alleged affair with Govinda in the 1980s. In a recent conversation, 57-year-old Neelam said that when she was working with Govinda in films, she did not know that Govinda was married.

She said that she was very young and her strict parents did not allow her to have any relationship with anyone and I did not know that Govinda was married. I was always with a family member, not because the film industry was a bad place.

Not only Neelam but her husband and actor Sameer Soni also reacted to these rumors and said that they are not bothered by these things. Whether something happened 20 years ago or not, I don’t know. So how can I take such things to heart?

In a 1990 interview, Govinda opened up about his feelings for Neelam and revealed that he even broke off his engagement to his current wife Sunita Ahuja because he wanted to marry Neelam.

Govinda had admitted that it became difficult to hide his liking and attraction for Neelam. We used to meet often and the more I got to know Neelam, the more I liked her. She was the kind of woman any man would fall in love with.

It should be noted that Neelam’s statement has come at a time when, according to reports, tension has arisen in the relationship between Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja and both have made public critical statements about each other in recent times.
