ISLAMABAD (Israr Khan) Federal Minister for Energy Owais Ahmad Khan Laghari told the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Wednesday that Pakistan is planning to spend about 200 billion rupees for restructuring and upgrading the overloaded power transmission and distribution system, whereby load shedding will be done at the level of individual transformers instead of the entire feeder. According to the federal minister, the new system is expected to be introduced within a year, under which about 190,000 transformers will be included.
